Bored, Bored and Bored.

This is what you’ll hear from anyone who’s not personally affected yet, besides whining about the lockdown and waiting for it to be done.

We’re agreeing with each other about how hard this is and laughing about it.
In fact, lockdown is a reflection of your lifestyle and routine. If it’s boring, it’s you, if it’s keeping you in shape, it’s your routine.

But did you ever think? What is this Lockdown and why is this for? Can we bring another perspective into our conversations? Absolutely, I say.

I’m not talking anything about the what, why, or how. We’re all experts at it already and we’ve had enough of it.

But I’m here to offer a varying perspective.

I was tired after just a couple of days into this. Tired of watching the news, people counting numbers, WhatsApp experts, the ALL VIRUSES IMMUNE species on the streets, and a few leaders who misused the ultimate faith of thousands of innocent people.

I felt the need to do something, a part of which is this that you’re reading.

The 21 NEVER AGAIN days of your life:

Learning.

We took so much for granted and we’re beginning to realize. Just this one incident has taught quite a few lessons to anyone who’s alive.

21 days was quite a significant theory for self-help (until the latest research proved its 66).

These 21 days, if used well, can create a life-changing impact. Since all the lessons elaborated would be too much to miss, I’ve decided to jot them down as points and let you ponder about it:

  1. Plan your financials. Don’t go all out and wait for that next paycheck for your entire life. Stop buying stuff to impress others. Just think about it as need vs want. Do consider parameters like convenience or productivity and get creative while deciding. This is far from being frugal, it is wise.
  2. Food is Fundamental. Cooking is essential. We didn’t rush for clothes, gadgets or shoes. We looked for pulses, grains, and veggies. We continue to rely on our mother’s expertise to be resourceful and still cook something that everyone in the house loves to eat with whatever that is left.
It’s also important that we grow our food. Of course not all of it, that’s not possible too. But we can start with microgreens, like mint and spinach. These are easy to grow, maintain and need very less space. You could also try vertical gardening for multiple varieties if you have space and sunlight. We didn’t have to buy spinach, mint leaves, coriander and tomatoes in this Lockdown. We’ve now planted a couple of more vegetables. All they need is a little water with love.
  3. Learn or get rid of Habits. I love to learn new skills. But it’s often hard to keep up with the schedule we have. Now since that’s not a part of the equation, what new habit would you love to Install? Would you want to workout, or relive your hobbies as a child? You must pull out that instrument and dust it off, or get your hands dirty in some paints. The internet is filled with all sorts of free courses for anything you want to learn too. On the other hand, you can also get rid of the habits you’ve always wanted to. Maybe the absolute shutdown of Alcohol and cigarettes could help?
  4. Professions you didn’t respect are essential for our lives today. The farmers, the delivery associates, the sanitation staff, the garbage pickers, the hospital maintenance staff and so many more. Remember to tip them well the next time maybe?
  5. Community is the key. A closely-knit neighborhood is far more successful than the shut doors, especially when it comes to tackling pandemics like this. Help that old couple, or educate that illiterate vendor. Share safety measures with anyone who might miss out.

Love.

Is it Love that keeps us going. Love for our friends and family, love for all the wealth you might have accumulated, love for your life. It is love that keeps you fighting for survival and we’re all in this for Love alone. So don’t forget to love your people while you are here, while they are here. You never know the next pandemic might just be around the corner. So forgive, forget and laugh it off, and continue to love.

Life.

“The chances of you being alive is 400 trillion to 1” — GaryVee

If that didn’t put things into perspective, I don’t know what will. One life, how do you want to live? Regret or Happy? Whining or Winning? Whatever it is, you get to decide and you are only ONE goddamn step away from a completely different life.

Action is what is most important. Action is what determines your future. Action reflects your beliefs. Action and action alone speaks about what is important to you. So act now, like you are preparing for your life’s biggest opportunities post this lockdown. Take Massive Determined Action for your best life ahead.

Stay safe, stay indoors. Please take care of your physical and mental health. Laugh will the people you love. Prepare for the kind of life you want to live post these 21 days. Remember, you are one step away. GO DO.
